| Based in Nelson, the Anchor Company served the people of Nelson and the West Coast for well over a century. Absorbed into the Union Steam Ship Company in 1972, they operated the last conventional cargo service on the New Zealand coast, that between Nelson and Onehunga until it was containerised in 1982. |
